Seeking Heavenly Mother Through Patterns

A really smart friend of mine pointed out that if we have the potential to become like God, then we must also have the capacity to understand everything He understands. And sure, God may choose to reveal knowledge in His own time, but I think that our spiritual understanding actually has a lot more to do with our own efforts than His reluctance to share information. On the contrary, I think Heavenly Father is anxious to help His children grow and progress. I think He’s hoping that we'll seek, ask, and knock for more knowledge and understanding. But I also think we put limits on the type or amount of information He might give us. (I'm guilty of putting limits on God too, but let's all remember the brother of Jared for a minute. Ether 3:19 tells us that, ”...because of the knowledge of this man he could not be kept from beholding within the veil; and he saw the finger of Jesus...” Clearly, it is possible to increase in wisdom and understanding to the point where we can't be kept in the dark. Clearly, it's attainable in this earth life.)

That's how I feel about developing a relationship with our Heavenly Mother. She's here, and so much closer than you can imagine. And there is information about Her available. There are conclusions we can draw and ways we can draw near unto Her. But we have to seek for it. We have to pray for the Spirit to help us. We have to do what we can and rely on faith for the rest.

And I know you've heard all of this before.

Over the last year or two, but particularly within the last few months, I've placed a lot of my focus on learning to see Her and feel Her influence in my life. It's hard. I still have to look. But I've felt Her near me in increasing amounts lately, and though it shouldn't surprise me, She really does feel familiar.

So to share what I've learned, and to hopefully guide you on your own journey to discovering your Heavenly Mother, I've compiled a small study aid for you. It'll be attached below — totally free for you to use and share. All of the resources I used for my study are listed. This isn't doctrine. This is my testimony based on a whole lot of research. Take your time with it. Take your time with Her.

(If you're printing this guide, which I recommend, make sure to print at 97% to ensure none of the text gets cut off. I designed this full bleed and don't want your info to get cut off!)

  1. I love your video and your explanation of the need for process of "line upon line and precept upon precept." I do want to point out that under the Law of Moses the Israelites did worship on the last day of the week (Saturday). However that changed to Sunday (The first day of the week). Christ died on black friday and was laid in the tomb, stayed there all day Saturday (because he rested), and then rose on Sunday. Now out of remembrance of his Resurrection we worship on the Lord's day, Sunday. You can look at the Calendar and see that Saturday is the last day of the week and Sunday is the first day of the week. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Hey Todd! Thanks for sharing! I know that the day of the Sabbath has changed throughout the course of history, but that is an important point to make. I appreciate you bringing it up. I suppose my main point in mentioning the Sabbath at all is to show that because God had a day of rest, we have a day of rest too.
